Medellín, Colombia’s second largest city, is located in a valley. Its surrounding areas, characterized by perfect roads, pictures que villages, and hundreds of cyclists on the weekends, provide for unique road cycling routes. We will stay 45 kilometers outside of the city (Medellín) to cycle at 2,300 meters (8,202 feet) above sea level, where you’ll experience short 5 kilometer climbs, intermediate 8 kilometer climbs and longer climbs of up to 37 kilometers!
Several hydroelectric plants that are found in this region produce much of the country’s energy. You’ll also see unique landscapes where smaller mountains appear to be islands in an area that is almost entirely covered in water!
Additional offers and highlights:
1. In addition to seeing and smelling the beautiful flowers, you’ll have a chance to visit a flower farm, where you will learn about the cultivation and export processes.
2. With more than 30 years of experience making beautiful, functional works of art, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to meet the producer of the most famous custom steel frames in Colombia, Agustín Hincapie, from Tinno Cycles.
“There are a lot of cycling tours but you will not find many that give you an opportunity to ride roads used for training by Colombian pro riders and that also take you thru some of the most beautiful landscapes of Colombia. Colombia Cycling's tour takes you for a 'spin' around the flower region, the lake around Guatapé and, if you still did not have enough of climbing, you can climb El Peñol with its 649 steps (I passed on it). Overall, Tomas and his crew delivered a fun day in the saddle. Nothing was rushed, full support was included and Tomas' knowledge about the various sites, history of Colombia and cycling made the whole experience super enjoyable.”

This regional tour also includes all of the services of the plan you choose (Training camp, Touring Bike, and Lovers’ ride).
